“…And after dinner, we have a surprise to share.”

These would become the most exciting words I heard in my conversations with Shaun leading up to the day he married the love of his life, Camden.

A crisp autumn underway, Shaun and Camden’s wedding overlooked a beautifully sunny Montgomery Country Club. In a bright and cozy reception hall, the happy couple stood before God, family, and their closest friends to proclaim their love and commit their lives to one another.

But there was still much more to celebrate, which had yet to be revealed.

Following a sunset cocktail hour, wedding guests filed inside to celebrate all the greatest of reception traditions: the grand entrance of bride and groom, the happy newlyweds’ first dance, cake-cutting, and the bridal bouquet toss.

The night continued on with laughter and celebration… But wait — There’s more!

Shaun picked up the mic from the DJ as Camden shuffled through her clutch purse.

“We just want you all to know how much it means to us that you would share this day with us,” Shaun said; the room fell silent as the excitement in his booming voice won the undivided attention of all their guests. “…And now, we have something to share with you.”

Camden, with tears of happiness welling, held up a family photo for all to see; only this family photo was not anything like the portraits that we had just taken out on the club grounds. This family photo was taken at the doctor’s office, mere days before their beautiful wedding.

The room roared with applause, screams, gasps, and “I KNEW ITS!” Camden and Shaun were expecting! Seven months later, they would give birth to Brooks, a beautiful and healthy baby boy.
